After two BIG days exploring the city we decided it was time to wind back a little. On Friday we took the train to Hyde Park and walked along the Diana Princess of Wales’ Memorial Walk to Harrods of London – retail heaven! We saw priceless garments, shoes, accessories and homewares, including a £30,000 cutlery set. Because we couldn’t afford anything else, we sourced picnic supplies from the Food Halls and made our way back to the lake for lunch.
We spent the rest of the afternoon exploring Kensington Gardens and Palace, treating ourselves to scones with jam and cream at Patisserie Valerie, shopping at Ottolenghi’s Holland Street store and sourcing more food supplies from the Whole Foods Market in Knightsbridge.
Today was date day and we spent the morning exploring Notting Hill and weaving through crowds on Portobello Road. We had an amazing lunch at Jamie Oliver’s Recipease restaurant and then rested up in the afternoon for a night at the theatre to see the stunningly amazing Les Mis. What a great start to our holiday! Thank you for sharing our adventure with us! xx
