Tea time

Our flight from Dubai to London was quick in comparison to the first leg of our trip and I managed to sleep for a couple of hours after making the most of an extra seat in our row. By some miracle, Ed also managed to refrain from moaning / whining the whole way over so dinner will definitely be on me!

We arrived in London quite late and made our way to the gorgeous Aviva Studios in Hammersmith where we will be staying for just over one week.

Our first day in London was marked by some of the big sights – Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, the Savoy, the Twinings Shop, Covent Gardens, Trafalgar Square, Nelson’s Column and the National Gallery.

We sought the advice of a local for breakfast on the Strand, shared a wrap for lunch and had a tea break at the Opera Terrace. I was also very excited to find a like-for-like replacement of my favourite mug just outside Westminster Abbey.

After 30,000+ steps we were starting to lose steam so quickly stopped in at a Tesco supermarket for supplies and fell fast asleep when we got home before we could even think about eating.
